The treatment of disease by doses of natural substances that in a healthy person would produce symptoms of disease. Essentially, a belief that “like cures like.”
For example, red onion makes your eyes water. That’s why it’s used in homeopathic remedies for allergies.
Homeopathic doctors weaken the active ingredients by adding water or another inactive ingredient. They believe this step transfers the healing essence.
They also believe that the lower the dose, the more powerful the medicine. Many remedies contain no molecules of the original substance. They are just expensive inactive ingredients. Sometimes just 100% water.
Water sounds harmless. What’s the harm?
People have died by not taking real medicine that they need.
